The Whole Family Living Green
Show #2162
Original Airdate: 5/24/08

Description

Living Green is a special caucus series looking at what families, communities, and organizations can do to conserve energy.  This series also explores a number of ways that individuals can conserve energy and reduce their carbon footprint. This half-hour program begins with a mini-documentary featuring a New Jersey family, who has undertaken the recommendations of a Home Energy Analysis.  The in-studio discussion focuses on how small changes add up to big savings and will ultimately shift the way we use energy in New Jersey. The panel explores topics like green building, utilizing combined heat and power, and analyzing personal energy use through the New Jersey Clean Energy Program’s Home Energy Analysis.

Tape Piece: The program begins with a mini-documentary produced by Paula M. Levine and featuring a New Jersey family, recommended by The New Jersey Clean Energy Program, who has undertaken the recommendations of a Home Energy Analysis.  Bob McCoy and his family were determined to make a difference and in the 1990s began taking steps in their home to conserve energy and become more efficient. We visit with him in his home and see the energy efficient changes he made.
